Well we made it through Valentine’s Day successfully. I was ver cautious this year since I lost so much money last year. We actually made money…not a lot but I don’t care it’s better than loosing money.
We are going to be moving our shop this week to our new location 839 E. Mission Rd. We will be on a busier street, I will have parking and the best part NO stairs. Our current shop has the workshop downstairs so spend a lot of time going up and down. It is just killing my legs I can’t wait to be all on one level. The new shop also has a bigger area to meet with brides. I’ve always wanted a brides room and can’t wait to finish decorating and setting it up. This room will give brides the opportunity to see all of my rental items and I can kind of group things together on a table so that they can get a sense of what their centerpieces will look like. Our scheduled opening date is March 4th. I’m just going to shut down both stores (I’ll still take phone & internet orders) I just won’t have the store itself open. That would be to hard with 1/2 of things at one store and the other 1/2 at the other store.
I delivered a huge anniversary/get well vase to the hospital this week. As an added bonus I e-mailed a picture of it to the couples daughter that ordered from back in NH. She loved the idea of getting a picture and was going to forward it onto her siblings that made the purchase with her so they could see what they bought their parents. I love the idea of being able to send you a picture of what I sent out. I know it’s hard send things far away and hoping that there going to look good so I will try and do that more and see if it catchs on with customers. Here is a picture of the vase that I sent out. It ended up weighing around 15-20 lb.
Feel free to leave me any comments and I hope you enjoy my blog.
